Ras Mohammed National Park sits at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, where the Gulf of Suez and Gulf of Aqaba meet. Famous for sheer coral walls, dense schools of fish, and crystal-clear water, it's one of the Red Sea's top snorkeling and diving destinations and a highlight of many Sharm El Sheikh boat trips.
Established as Egypt's first national park, Ras Mohammed protects some of the richest reefs in the world. Dramatic drop-offs plunge into the blue just metres from the surface, drawing barracuda, jacks, and the occasional reef shark, while shallow gardens of hard and soft coral make it equally rewarding for snorkelers.
The park is most easily explored on a guided boat trip from Sharm El Sheikh, which anchors at several reef sites across the day. Tours typically include equipment, lunch on board, and a guide; the famous Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef sites are the usual highlights.
